GROUP RESULTS
Nenagh Eire Og (Tipperary) 6-12 St. Patrick's (Dublin) 3-3
Nenagh Eire Og (Tipperary) 6-6 St. Lachtains (Kilkenny) 1-6
Nenagh Eire Og (Tipperary) 1-10 Liam Mellows (Galway) 1-2
We started at 11.00am in Clonkeen Collage for the group stages of the competition. The first game up was St Patricks (Dublin) and we defeated them on a score line of 6-12 to 3-03 , giving us a tremendous start and setting us on our way. Next up were St Lachlan’s (Kilkenny) and after a fine start we continued our fine form on what can only be described as a mud bath. The pitch was in terrible condition but the lads never let this deter them from their aim and we ran out winners 6-06 to 1-06. Our third group game would qualify us for the quarter finals if we managed a draw or a win with Liam Mellows (Galway). This proved to be a tougher game with fatigue and conditions playing their part but we came out winning again to put us through to the quarter finals on a soreline 1-10 to 1-02 .

QUARTER FINAL
Nenagh Eire Og (Tipperary) 6-8 St. Martins (Wexford) 4-13
Qualifying for the knock out stage ment we were now on the bigger full size pitch back at Kilmacud Crokes main pitch and we had drawn St Martin’s (wexford). They proved to be a very fit and fast hurling team and pushed us all the way in a very close encounter and it took a last second point from half way from Michael Heffernan to pull this one out of the bag. We now started to believe that the final could be a possibility.
SEMI FINAL
Nenagh Eire Og (Tipperary) 3-12 Kilruane McDonagh (Tipperary) 5-5
A unique situation had arisen at the semi-final stage as 4 North Tipperary teams had made it through. We had drawn Kilruane McDonaghs with the pairing of Toomevara and Portroe on the otherside of the draw. Kilruane were a very tough and skilful outfit and again it took a last minute point from Paul Ryan to secure our final spot against the favourites and 7’s specialists Portroe who had been pushed to the pin of their collar by Toomevara .

FINAL
Nenagh Eire Og (Tipperary) 3-20 Portroe (Tipperary) 4-10
Not having expected to Make the final we took this in our stride and, played with a relaxed attitude and put up a great performance. All 10 players were excellent and the team spirit was second to none as solid performances all over the field gave us a convincing win with seven points to spare on a final score of 3-20 to 4-10 against Portroe who had played an extra game and picked up injury’s enroute to the final.
