After the disappointment of last years loss in the Final and the loss of Tommy Heffernan to injury Nenagh Eire Og went into this encounter with Upperchurch/Drumbane determined not to let lightning strike twice. So it was that Nenagh produced the performance of the season to capture the county minor honours. From one to fifteen they worked hard to produce a clinical performance. Shane Maher commanded his full back position with authority and gave a masterful display, Mark Flannery at centre back was also commanding and Billy Heffernan at No 8 was a tower of strength plucking ball out of the air with ease and supplying excellent ball to our forwards who made full use of it with David Cleary at full forward scoring a personal tally of 3-02. Cliff Moloney in the corner went unmatched as he caused havoc in the Upperchurch/Drumbane defence, the pick of his scores was a point in the first half from an impossible angle, credit to the umpires for seeing it !!! Other names that stood out were Eddie Darcy and Sean Geany in defence who gave assured displays despite their young age and Eoin Slattery was also assured and worked hard at every opportunity that came his way. The Final scoreline showed the dominance of the Nenagh Performance Nenagh Eire Og 5-10 - Upperchurch/Drumbane 1-10.

Congratulations and thanks to Manger: Tony Slattery , Selectors: PJ Maxwell , Tommy Murray  Trainer: Ritchie Flannery and Coach : Hugh Moloney. Their hard work and commitment to the team showed in a fine team performance.
