Over 40's hurling 2009 /10

The club this year initiated an over 40's  5 a-side hurling competition. 42 Players took part in what was described as a 'Social' hurling competition with a hint of competitiveness thrown in !!!! While envisaged that the games would be of low intensity, with minimal physicality !!! they were nonetheless played in a spirit of fun and enjoyment.

The brainchild of Conor O Donovan and ably assisted on the organising committee by Enda Costello and Eamon Brennan, the whole concept proved a great success and culminated in the finals being held on Tuesday 11th Aug.

The essence of the whole tournament was captured perfectly by Noel Shoer in his expertly written piece .... There was a palpable air of nervous tension around Nenagh on Tuesday, August 11th, 2009 ....more
